Mass Killings in Sudan as Rapid Support Forces Seize el-Fasher
Since three-years, Sudan has been facing a serious war to hold power in the country, by two groups. These two groups involved the country's army and the paramilitary group known as the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has resulted in what the UN has called a “horror movie” for civilians. According to a recent report from the UN, more than 6,000 civilians were killed in just three days when the RSF captured the city of el-Fasher in late 2025.
The Eyewitnesses reported witnessing mass executions, civilians being tossed into the air by gunfire, and sexual violence used as a weapon. Although the RSF has denied these allegations, while the UN and the US have called these events war crimes and possible genocide. The fighting has left more than 13 million people displaced and has resulted in a phase of food scarcity in the country, which is now facing sanctions from the international community against key military leaders in an attempt to stop the violence.
